Hiking in the Brenta Dolomites

Complete clockwise tour of the Brenta Group, Trentino, starting from and finishing in Malé, 15 days’ walking.

An itinerary which winds along little used paths away from the more touristy routes. There are no stretches with fixed rope supports or which require mountaineering skills.
The highest point is the Dodici Apostoli pass at 2,620 m. The route takes in almost all the valleys and refuges of the Brenta Group, except for the Agostini Refuge, easily reached in about 1½ hours’ walk from the Al Cacciatore Refuge, the Malga Andalo Refuge which is a little over an hour’s walk away from the Selvata Refuge and the Alimonta Refuge which is a short distance away from the Brentei Refuge.
It is possible to shorten the itinerary by going from the Croz Altissimo Refuge to Molveno and from here by public transport to Stenico or Sant’Antonio di Mavignola or Pinzolo (then by cable car to the Dos Sabion). The Malga Spora only serves food in the summer months: for overnight accommodation in June, September and October, it is best to phone the Pro Loco Spormaggiore tourist office (0461-653637) or the Spormaggiore town hall (0461-653555).

NB.:  the times between points given in the tables refer to an average walking speed (about 300-350 metres of difference in height per hour going uphill, about 500 metres going downhill and about 3 km on the flat), they do not include stops and they assume normal weather conditions.

Some altitudes given, generally marked *, are approximate.
